Good jobs number released this number -- 200,000 jobs created in December, unemployment rate dips to 8.5 percent from 8.6 percent last month, and last year the economy created 1.64 million jobs overall.  These are all encouraging signs.  But we need to keep moving forward without delay.  The economy is still very fragile and too many people are still out of work. I was proud to join steelworkersand company executives at USS-POSCO plant in Pittsburg, CA yesterday to call on House GOP leaders to pass a bill to clamp downon China's manipulation of its currency, a practice that costs us jobs.  The Contra Costa Times was there.

Speaker John Boehner said yesterday that he gets along with the President but they’re not on the same wavelength.

The House of Representatives, under the control of the Tea Party Republicans, voted 238 to 186 today to pass the bill that makes it easier for companies to outsource American jobs, H.R. 2587.  Shame on them.  The fight now goes to the U.S. Senate.
